Morwenstow RGT
is a new branch of the Retired Greyhound Trust based on the North Cornwall, North Devon border.
Our Mission
Is to find good, loving, forever pet homes for ex-racing greyhounds in Cornwall, Devon and the South West of England.
Our aim
Is to raise the public's awareness that Greyhounds can and do make wonderful pets and to see as many retired greyhounds enjoying life as a much loved pet after they have been retired from racing.
Without the help we receive from a wonderful group of people who call themselves The Westward Ho! Greyhound Supporters we would not have been able to set up the new branch, so many thanks go to them, for all they have done in the past, now and into the future, may we find many more happy forever homes for all our 40mph couch potatoes.
We encourage prospective new owners to come and view our greyhounds as many times as is needed to ensure as much as possible you get the right dog for you, your family and most importantly you are the right home for him.
We will always conduct a home check at a suitably arranged time when we ask a few simple questions of you, have a look at your home and garden to ensure fencing is of a suitable height with no gaps, 6' all round is the ideal, we generally bring one of our own greyhounds for a visit at this time so you can see for yourselves if he or she will fit in with your surroundings and that you will be comfortable having one of our dogs living within your family unit.
If we do not have a suitable dog for you, we will always try and put you in touch with one of the other branches who may have the ideal dog, we all try and work together to help our greyhound friends find wonderful new homes, it is not a competition between us, we all have the same mission in mind, to find forever, loving homes for these serene and loving creatures.
